This very easy to grow mushroom species has a leathery texture and can grow to sizes of 4 inches or more across! A perfect soft coral for lower light areas of your reef tank or for beginner aquarists just starting out with corals. Actinic lighting will cause the fluorescence to glow neon green and purple. 

Mushroom Corals are often found in tropical waters and has many forms that can be found in many different colors, consist of either a single organism or a colony if individuals. In most genera, a single polyp emerges from the center of the skeleton to feed at night, while others have a narrow column topped with a wide disc, and tentacles that are short and arranged in rows radiating from the center, where the mouth is. Mushroom Corals contain zooxanthellae which allows the Mushroom nutrition through photosynthesis. Some Mushrooms are immobile as well as colonial, while most species remain fully detached from the substrate in adulthood. Some Mushrooms are even closely related to stony or reef building corals known as Scleractinia, and can even have similar characteristics, with the exception of the absence of a stony skeleton itself.
